Volunteering

Debt, redundancy, bankruptcy, homelessness, rent arrears, family breakdowns are cruelly common, even in prosperous East Dorset. Jobs vanish. Bailiffs call. Landlords evict. Building Societies re-possess. There are still plenty of dragons to be slain in Dorset. The weapon we use is advice

This is not an appeal for money

We need more than your money. We need your sense of fair play, your intelligence, sensitivity, decency and - it has to be said - some of your time. We need the part of you that wants to give something back.

Join the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)

The CAB is free, confidential, impartial and independent. Last year 8,680 people knocked on our door or phoned in. From time to time we need more volunteer advisers. You start with a briefing session - a toe in the water. CAB people are friendly, sympathetic, easy to approach and will give all the support you'll need to come up to speed.
